Donate With Cash App Works

Download the Square Inc. Cash App to your phone. You will receive an email or text with a confirmation code. After you enter this code, you will be asked to select your primary use for Cash App: business or personal. Select personal. After you finish registering and link your bank account, you will be able to send money.

Use Cash App to send your donation to Intergroup, as follows:

  1. Input the amount you want to send. Enter at least $1.
  2. Tap “pay.”
  3. Use Intergroup’s Cash Tag, $SantaCruzOA, to indicate who you are sending this money to.
  4. As the recipient, Intergroup will get an email or text letting us know you sent money through Cash App. Fees There is no charge to send money if you use your debit card. However, there is an additional 3% fee to the sender, if you use a credit card instead of a debit card.

Mail Donations

Through the U.S. Mail a. Write a check (or money order) to the order of Santa Cruz County Intergroup of OA. b. Mail your check to P.O. Box 3469, Santa Cruz, CA 95063.

How Donations are Handled

  1. The Intergroup Treasurer deposits all checks received via U.S. Mail into Intergroup’s bank account.
  2. Donations made with Cash App are automatically linked to Intergroup’s bank account.
  3. Periodically – at least once a month, the treasurer sends 30% of the total new donations received to the World Service Office and 10% to Region 2. These contributions are made using the available donation platforms on oa.org and r2oa.org.
  4. At the end of our fiscal year (June 30, 2020), Intergroup will assess our financial position and we will donate any excess funds to World Service Organization and Region 2, once again using the 30% – 10% formula.

Suggested Seventh Tradition Donation Plan

Intergroup is offering a collection and distribution process for Seventh Tradition donations until such time that face-to-face meetings resume in Santa Cruz County. Overview

  1. While we continue to meet virtually, we cannot simply drop our donations into baskets or pouches. Consequently, each individual OA member who wants to make a donation has to assume the responsibility for getting it to the appropriate destination (i.e., Intergroup, Region 2 and the World Service Office).
  2. To simplify this effort for each of us, Intergroup is offering to be a “clearinghouse” for our individual donations.
  3. Acting as the clearinghouse, Intergroup will take each member’s donation and – using the 60/30/10 formula – keep 60% in the Intergroup treasury, forward 30% to the World Service Office and 10% to Region 2.
  4. The frequency and amount of donations is completely at each member’s discretion.
